The beginning of this blog sucks...

Ok so the beginning of this blog sucks and is totally random.

Maybe it will become something cool.

Maybe it will fizzle again.

Maybe I will be listening to hot 97's throwback at noon while writing this and mr. boombastic will come on and I will smile and laugh so truely out loud that I will have to explain dancing with Lee at Missy's sweet 16 to my students while they are making clay Gargoyles (true story).

So what have I been working on lately?

Becomming obsessed with others blog's! Like my brilliant bestie's http://iamnotyourguru.wordpress.com/

And lots of crafty ones, especially this one

Craftiness is not an option

and this one

Pink Paper Peppermints - crafty and spiritual!

They are so inspirational!

The only problem is they make me feel like I can do anything! sadly I cannot!

I was looking for a cute project for a friend of ours who was turning 1, all my go to projects are for girls so I was looking for inspiration and found this

from a cool looking etsy shop

but of course I wanted to make it myself because I love giving handmade gifts so I made one myself and discovered I suck at applique.

I started testing my skills on this onesie, for our little Violet and it looked great until I started sewing it. Then it looked like this

So I gave up on the testing and jumped right in. Here it is before I sewed it, it looked SO cute, I was SO proud of it

Sadley I did not remember to take an after picture and maybe I can get Luciano's mommy to take a pic of him in it for me someday but suficed to say that it ended up cute but I'm glad I was going for a frayed rustic kinda look because that is definately what I ended up with.

What's next?

I found an adorable daffodil print at walmart that I want to use to make this

Oh Baby!

April 28th 11:24pm
*So my period was due on Sunday and its Wednesday night and Eric finally gets home from his Kool-aid drinking meeting and he tells me all about it. And since Jess's creative math a few weeks ago revealed that being pregnant was an actual possibility, I bought a Home Pregnancy test (ok a few) and had one ready. I re-read the directions a few dozen times and took it to the bathroom. Eric walks in right away and before I could walk out I glance at it from the corner of my eye and two lines have already appeared! The second line is SUPER dark, visible even in a blurry camera phone picture I immediately sent to Jess who was waiting with baited breath. We stood hugging each other in the bathroom for almost an hour letting it sink in, but Oh Baby, here we go again!

Monday May 3rd
*Stopped at the grocery store in Columbus to pick up a few things and I (we, me and the baby) wanted sausage and penne for dinner and I was afraid we may not have sauce so I picked up a jar and couldn't decide which brand. When my gaze landed on the Prego I laughed out loud and had to get it. Eric was running late coming home so I txt'd him this cheesey pic

Should I wear this t-shirt to Sophia's birthday party? Would everybody get it? I am really anxious to tell everyone. Waiting until her birthday makes it just around 12 weeks so out of the most dangerous time. We are gonna tell our immediate family this Sunday on Mother's Day I can't wait. We are thinking of getting Sophia a Big Sister t-shirt to wear and letting that be the anouncement for us. Fun!

ok now I have...

ok so after some hard work I have gotten some new stuff done. This is what I did just last night

I finished one cute black and hot pink polka dot dress and did the pillow part for a 3T lemon dress and a 24 mo bumble bee dress.

Also I took pictures of the clippies that I made on Sunday night (I think my hubby missed me so I drug all my clippie stuff to the living room and worked on those while we watched tv)

Saturday when I got home from a super fun playdate I made one more bright dress

I also made another ipod sock sometime in there but I don't remember when and I don't have a picture of them. My box of stuff to sell still looks REALLY empty and I only have four days left and I have to work tonight! I have two more dresses cut and ready to sew so maybe I can just sew one of those tonight after work. But these late nights are starting to get to me, I could barely keep my eyes open on the drive in.

But bright side my testing duty did enable me to do almost a whole shrug for my accesory sets. Pics to follow.

Thusday I...

Thursday I:

  • Went to work

  • Finished the shrug

  • fed the little grape fiend some snack and got to work finishing her dress and starting a new one

  • fought with the grape fiend to eat something besides grapes for dinner (lost, unless you count the handful of shredded cheese hubby got her to eat)

  • put the fiend to bed

  • tucked the shrug's tails, started a new idea/pattern; the ipod sock

  • moved to the ghetto sewing studio after vampire diaries

  • finished sewing sophia's pillowcase dress

pic to come

  • started to sew a new pillowcase dress to sell from stash fabric with cute kitties on it

  • FINISHED the whole kitty dress! (I couldn't believe it, I still made a few boo boos so it wasn't even as fast as I could theoritically make one if i stopped messing up)

  • Went to bed waaay too late (midnight!) but still before hubby got home from pool.

  • had to miss home instruction because of the meeting

  • picked up sophia, drove home in the rain

  • did dishes and cooked dinner to thank hubby for dealing with Veriozon about our lack of internet so I don't have to for the hundreth time.

  • I made slump and let Sophie play with the water in the sink the WHOLE time (lets hear it for water conservation!)

  • Ate together as a family

  • Gave sophia a bath and put her to bed by 8

  • watched Fringe while I worked on the sleeves for the shrug that will not end

  • pulled out the sleeve that I made because I didn't like it when it was done

  • spent an hour in my fake sewing studio in the breakfast nook working on sophia's pillowcase dress

  • stopped working after an hour and a half with only one major boo boo (cut all the trim the correct width but not the main part, didn't realize until I had already made the most beautiful seam on it :( )

  • Its not a pillowcase dress yet but it could pass for a really nice pillow case.
